Pleasure State Aether balconnet bra

Pleasure State Aether balconnet bra

The Myer fashion catalogues are always a treat for all of us - the girls get to drool over the latest Australian designer fashion while the blokes get to drool over Jennifer Hawkins and other assorted glamours who grace the pages.

And the current summer catalogue is no exception - I want at least half of the outfits featured inside (especially the pantsuit featured on the cover, but I know if I wore it that would inevitably lead to comparisons with Hawko, and let me just say that I really don’t need that).

There is also some really gorgeous lingerie featured inside. I love this Pleasure State Aether set pictured here, which is available for $59.95 for the bra and $39.95 for the bottoms.

Lingerie sale

Lingerie sale

Zodee is having an online lingerie sale and I think I just found my bargain of the year (or at least the year so far).

Yeah, I know I said I’m not spending money on non-essential items at the moment, blah blah blah whatever, but when you find a Pleasure State bra marked down to $15.95 from $79.95, it would be foolish NOT to buy it, right?

The Pleasure State White Label Tango push-up bra was so cheap because the very last one left happened to be in my size. Pleasure State bras and lingerie are not cheap to buy at full retail but they are gorgeous and well-made so this is even more of a bargain for me. After postage and handling it came in at $23, which is nothing in the scheme of things.

If you’re after a new bra, I recommend shopping by size to find the “last one left” bargains, but for cheap swimwear and items for men, women and kids, check out the links on the front page of the Zodee site.

Myer sale

Myer sale

Myer’s mid-season sale started just before the long weekend and it looks like it’s another doozy.

There are some decent discount on homewares, ladies’ fashion and accessories, electronics and more.

I like the Tokito wrap cardigan pictured on the left in the photo above, which is down to $45 from $69.95.

Am also keen on this versatile little black dress from Wayne by Wayne Cooper, marked down to $120 from $179.

Plus, selected lingerie is 25% off, including Pleasure State so it’s a good time to check out the Biofit bra if you’re keen (it should be down to under $40 with the discount).

Pleasure State My Fit bra

Pleasure State My Fit bra

The problem with many of today’s so-called wonder bras is that what may be good for an A-cup isn’t necessarily what’s best for a D-cup.

This is why you really have to love the Pleasure State Biofit bra. Rather than taking a “one-size enhances all” approach to creating a good push-up bra, each cup size is engineered with different requirements.

My pet peeve with trying to buy bras is the manufacturers who seem to think that larger cup sizes require padding. If you are over a C-cup, YOU ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH TO WORK WITH. Unless you are trying to look like a Jessica Rabbit caricature, padding really isn’t necessary.

Enter the Biofit. A- and B-cups get padding as well as boost, while C-cups get a little boost and more lift. Meanwhile, D-cups who “generally don’t require any additional volume” (DUH) get help with uplift and positioning (translation: so they don’t hit your knees).

I have one in black and love it so will probably buy some in different colours too, eventually. It retails for $49.95 but a good tip is to wait for the Myer sales to stock up.

Pleasure State bras tend to run on the small size so if you are at the bigger end of your bust size spectrum you may have to go up a cup size.

NOTE: The name appears to have recently been changed to My Fit rather than Biofit on the Pleasure State website, but most of the current models in-store are still called Biofit so we’ll go with that for now. Plus, it sounds like scientists made the bra in a test tube or something so it must be good.
