Leona Edmiston shirt dress

Leona Edmiston shirt dress

I wrote about this Leona Edmiston shirt dress a couple of months back and the good news is it’s now on sale.

You can pick it up through the online boutique for just $80, down from the original $129 price, plus $10 shipping (although shipping is free if you throw something else in to your shopping cart and spend over $100).

I am very, very close to buying it, so hopefully someone else will grab it while I try to talk myself out of it.

Leona Edmiston discount code

Leona Edmiston discount code

Every year around this time I fall in love with some Leona Edmiston dress that I know I can’t afford but still torture myself with anyway.

This year is no exception, and comes in the form of the Jill maxi dress, a gorgeous strapless number in peacock-blue silk that would look unbelievable with a light tan and gold shoes and accessories.

Unfortunately, at $895 it’s a little out of my current budget (”a little” being the operative phrase). Even when you apply the current 20% discount code (BONVOYAGE, valid until September 7), it’s still not going to happen ($716 is also “a little” out of my current budget).

Luckily there are some more affordable items on the site to which you can also apply the current discount code.

Leona Edmiston Ruby collection

Leona Edmiston Ruby collection

Whilst browsing through the Leona Edmiston website just now, I noted that she has launched a brand new collection of frocks.

The Leona Edmiston Ruby collection sits at around the same pricepoint as the Leona by Leona Edmiston diffusion label (prices are under $200) and consists of some gorgeous brightly coloured dresses for the upcoming spring/summer season.

I’m quite taken with this Millie Military shirt dress. Shirt dresses are a classic and stylish look for the office and can even be dressed down for weekend lunches. For $129, this dress is a definite winner.

Leona Edmiston sale

Leona Edmiston sale

Leona Edmiston is having yet another clearance of some of her dresses and accessories, both online and in-store.

Leona Edmiston frocks are great for winter, especially when paired with some of her fabulous black tights, and many are smart enough to wear in the office.

My favourite is the Joelene dress - black is a staple for winter and it’s reduced to $210, down from $425.

Or you can check out the sale in-store for more options.

Leona Edmiston discount code

Leona Edmiston discount code

If you’re planning on doing some online shopping over the weekend, you might want to consider visiting the Leona Edmiston online store.

If you spend $200 at the store before Monday, you’ll get $50 off your order when you use the code 50OFF.

The code applies to everything, including the main Leona Edmiston collection, Little Leona, accessories, sleepwear and more.

I think the Rosemary dress is really pretty, and it’s already reduced to $245 from $495. With the extra discount, you’ll pick it up for $195 (and shipping is free).

Leona Edmiston Pins

Leona Edmiston Pins

When it comes to tights, Leona Edmiston Pins are my all-time favourite.

For me, I must have at least four pairs on-hand during the cooler months - mainly because I love to layer two pairs on top of each other on really cold days, which also happens to give you that solid opaque effect.

The classic black luxury opaques are my staples, but I’m eyeing off the new-season collection of Leona Edmiston Pins, which has just arrived in time for autumn/winter.

My favourite of the new collection is the Bardot style, which features a classic houndstooth pattern. You have to be really careful with patterned tights, but the houndstooth design looks small enough to get away with it.

Unfortunately Leona Edmiston Pins aren’t available through the site’s online boutique, but you can buy them at Leona Edmiston boutiques and selected stockists - click on the link at the site to find one near you. Pins usually run out for around $20 a pair, though you’ll occasionally find them on sale.

Leona Edmiston Taffy Twist dress

Leona Edmiston Taffy Twist dress

I’ve always said I can only take animal print (especially leopard print) in small doses, but I think I can make an exception for the Leona Edmiston Taffy Twist dress.

Yes, head-to-toe leopard-print dresses are generally the calling card of your average cougar-about-town, and even though I’m not quite there yet, I soon will be and therefore should begin adjusting my wardrobe accordingly.

In any case, I don’t find this particular dress to be as offensive as other animal print dresses, potentially because the demure cut lessens the impact of the print. I think it would look best with black tights during the cooler months and black heels.

Plus, it’s my birthday this week and I just received a special birthday email offering me 20% off my next purchase to celebrate this momentous occasion (which I am trying my best to ignore as it is one of the dreaded “zero” birthdays. I’ll leave you to guess which one). I feel it would be rude NOT to buy something with the discount code, right?

The Leona Edmiston Taffy Twist dress is available online and in-store for $129.

Leona Edmiston Boxing Day sale

Leona Edmiston Boxing Day sale

If you haven’t totally overspent yourself on Christmas yet, no doubt you’re planning to in the Boxing Day sale and here’s another one worth checking out.

Leona Edmiston is one of my favourite local designers so I’d be all over her Boxing Day sale like a cheap suit - but unfortunately I’ll be in Canberra on the day, and being the back end of nowhere, our nation’s capital doesn’t have a Leona Edmiston boutique within cooee. (Just kidding. I love you Canberra.)

Aside from the gorgeous frocks in the main collection and Leona by Leona Edmiston collection, handbags, heels and Little Leona will also be on sale. Little Leona is so cute and a must-have for stylish little girls - I made sure my newborn niece had a Little Leona dress hanging in her closet before she’d even exited the womb.

In summary:

* Up to 50% off all frocks
* 50% off all Little Leona
* 50% off all heels
* 50% off all handbags
* Leona by Leona Edmiston frocks all under $100.

The Leona Edmiston Boxing Day sale will be in all boutiques, Myer concessions and online.

Leona Edmiston perfume

Leona Edmiston perfume

I was in my local Leona Edmiston boutique last Thursday night and have a new favourite from her that isn’t a dress that I can’t really afford.

I spritzed myself with Leona Edmiston Eau de Parfum and was very pleasantly surprised - it’s a gorgeous fragrance and is my new favourite (I’ve been looking for a new everyday perfume for a while after making myself sick of Marc Jacobs).

It was designed in New York and is supposed to combine the scents of an English country garden with the exoticness of the orient and a burst of freshness.

Leona Edmiston perfume is available exclusively at her boutiques. A 30ml bottle will set you back around $80.

Leona Edmiston Jill dress

Leona Edmiston Jill dress

Oh. My. God. moments over fashion items are rare for me these days, but it happened this morning when a picture of the Leona Edmiston Jill dress hit my inbox.

Sure, it may be a summer dress, and yes, it feels like we’re in the middle of a Siberian winter at the moment, but considering this is a dress from the main Leona Edmiston collection, I figure I will need until summer to save up for it. Summer next year, that is.

Well, it’s meant to be a summer dress anyway. It’s from Leona’s Spring/Summer 09/10 collection, which is arriving in shops now. How nice is it to hear that spring/summer collections are arriving? It gives me a small amount of hope that this winter might actually END one day.

The Leona Edmiston Jill silk dress comes in two colours - embroidered print on blue silk, as pictured here (the one I want and will kill someone for if needs be), and a blossom print on yellow silk.

I am currently tracking down the RRP and will update when I have it.
