Win! Cute fridge magnets - Kindred Gifts

Win! Cute fridge magnets - Kindred Gifts

We’re giving away 8 sets of very cute eco-fridge magnets (from celebrated designer Kate Grenier) in this week’s free Lasoo competition.

Shopping online at Kindred Gifts makes you feel better! You ‘buy once, but give twice’ because they’re all gifts that are either eco-friendly, recycled, Fairtrade or handmade. One of the Kindred Gifts designers is Seattle-based Kate Grenier, who started her trash-to-treasure gift making in her father’s barn workshop. Kate makes fridge magnets from recycled bottle caps and fills them with witty words to brighten up your fridge - and your life. There’s everything from magnets for chocolate and champagne lovers to ones to give to a special teacher or wine lover.

We have 3 sets of `Valentine’s Day’, 3 sets of `Romance’, and 2 sets of `Sexy’ fridge magnets to win - the perfect present for someone you love (or to keep yourself, they’re so cute).  Just tell us in 25 words or less (in Leave a comment box below), what you would stick up on your fridge with a Kate Grenier fridge magnet. The best  8 answers will each win a six-pack of fridge magnets in a reusable metal presentation box.

Dragon Eye cocktail ring

Dragon Eye cocktail ring

Every girl needs a statement ring (or two) and this one from Rena Joy is more affordable than most.

The Dragon Eye cocktail ring from Rena Joy has some really unique colours and for $25 is very affordable.

The whole site is worth checking out for a range of necklaces, earrings, rings and more.

Witchery NYC metal cuff watch

Witchery NYC metal cuff watch

If you haven’t checked out the Witchery and Witchery Man mid-season sale yet, then there’s still lots of good stuff available online and in-store.

I usually get so distracted by the clothes that I forget to check out the accessories, but this morning I took a look at the sunglasses and jewellery and was suitably impressed.

This NYC metal cuff watch is very chic in a minimalist sort of way, and for $169.95 is a great buy (reduced from $229.95).

Disney Couture Dancing Arrow ring

Disney Couture Dancing Arrow ring

If you need a quick accessories fix before the weekend, you’re in luck.

Accessories site Miijo.com is having a sale on selected pieces from the likes of House of Harlow, Disney Couture and Winter Kate.

As it so happens, Disney Couture jewellery has long been a favourite of mine, so there are some real finds here. You can pick up this Dancing Arrow ring for $48, reduced from its original price of $80.

Lovisa jewellery

Lovisa jewellery

The arrival of spring can only mean one thing (at least to those of us with gambling problems): spring racing is just around the corner.

And if you’re planning on attending any race days over the carnival (or even just a Melbourne Cup day event), you’ll most likely need some sort of fascinator or other headwear to go with your outfit.

I just discovered Lovisa jewellery, which I’d never heard of before today but apparently has stores at some major shopping centres, including many Westfields around Australia.

The range is very affordable and has some really gorgeous pieces (I especially love the animal-inspired jewellery). I definitely recommend having a browse through the site - it appears to be a slightly more upmarket version of Diva jewellery.

Under $20 jewellery sale

Under $20 jewellery sale

I love Wednesdays just about as much as I love people who call Wednesdays “hump day”, so this morning I’m cheering myself up with the under $20 jewellery sale at Ella Bleau.

There’s a decent range of rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces reduced across the site, with no sale item priced at more than $20.

Take for example this pearl and diamond pendant, which is going for just $10. They may only be simulated diamonds, but that’s a real freshwater pearl so it’s great value for money.

(Don’t forget to factor in shipping.)

Diva feather earrings

Diva feather earrings

You know I like a cheap and cheerful buy to celebrate Friday, and Diva is an invaluable source when it comes to cheap and cheerful.

So if you’re near a Diva store today, I suggest heading in to pick up a pair of these peacock feather earrings, which will only set you back $13 (if you’re prepared to wait, you can also order them online).

These babies are obviously a bit of a statement piece so I think they’d work best with the rest of your outfit toned right down - such as basic black.

Holly Jones Queen Bee ring

Holly Jones Queen Bee ring

If you’ve been reading this blog for any amount of time (and I haven’t yet driven you away with my incessant blathering), you will know there are two things in this world I can’t resist:

1. A good pair of shoes with heels high enough to break your ankles, and
2. OTT cocktail rings that make people say “what the hell is that growing on your finger”.

So it should come as no surprise to hear that I just purchased this Holly Jones Queen Bee ring, which fulfills all my key criteria for a ring (large, flashy and shaped like an animal). I don’t feel too guilty about this purchase because it’s reduced to $20 from $99, so really it would have been foolish of me NOT to buy it (you would be surprised by the number of ways I can find to justify any purchase).

The site has some gorgeous pieces including earrings, necklaces and bracelets in the sale section, so make sure you check those out while you’re at it.

Seven cufflink sets for $100

Seven cufflink sets for $100

If you ask me, cufflinks aren’t just for blokes - they’re also a great look for women working in a corporate environment.

Paired with a nice French cuff shirt, the right cufflink looks absolutely fantastic.

Unfortunately, some cufflinks do tend to be on the expensive side, so if you have $100 to spare today, you can pick up seven pairs for $100 from The Cuff Shop. Pairs of cufflinks usually go for $30 each on the site, so you’ll be saving yourself a whopping $110.

The offer is valid for today only and will automatically be applied at the checkout.
