There are always some great buys in these catalogues and to be honest most items look just as good, if not better, than homewares from more expensive retailers.

I’m currently in the market for outdoor furniture, so was having a browse through the latest Early Settler catalogue yesterday afternoon.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually been into an Early Settler shop, but from the looks of the catalogue they have some really nice-looking pieces at affordable prices.

The five-piece outdoor dining package pictured here looks to be really great value at just $399.

Nothing makes me feel good about going home at night like nice homewares, and this Blink Designs silhouette light is my latest obsession.

For $150, it definitely isn’t cheap, but it’s original and cosy-looking (plus I do think it pays to invest in nice homewares - after all, you’re the one who has to live with them every day).

Well, the weather is well and truly awful in Sydney today, so most of us are probably thinking about hibernating for the winter.

For me, that means making sure I have something to keep my feet warm, new pyjamas and plenty of manchester and bedding so I have no reason to leave the house on rainy weekends.
