If you like your cocktail rings with a hefty dose of the extravagant (and really, there is no other way to have them), then you’ll love the StudioLeanne Etsy store.
These unique statement rings are the work of a Melbourne-based designer, who works with glass and ceramic to create beautiful one-off pieces.
Prices aren’t too bad either - most of the rings are around the $30 mark, plus shipping.
The Spirals and Swirls cocktail ring is my favourite of the collection, selling for a very reasonable $25.

Last week I came across a post on wall decals on a fantastic local blog, That’s Noice!, and was reminded of how nice these can look.
Although not to everyone’s design taste, I think a nice wall decal can work in the right setting, particularly some of the more sophisticated designs.
Although most you’ll find on the Internet are strictly listed as removable wall decals, they’re still probably not the best idea if you’re renting given that it they need to be stuck to the wall and there’s a reasonable chance they may remove paint if taken off earlier than the life of the decal. (Generally wall decals last a good few years inside, slightly less outside.)
I quite fancy the wall decal from Etsy pictured here - it would go nicely with my dark pink and brown design scheme.
My only worry is that I’ll get sick of a wall decal and then be stuck with the hassle of removing it.

If you’re into everything artsy and craftsy and like your purchases to be handmade and unique, then no doubt you’ve already discovered the wonder of Etsy.
Basically, Etsy is a worldwide online marketplace where anyone with a creative bent can go and sell their creations to everyone else. That covers pretty much anything you can make with your hands - jewellery is always popular, as well as homewares and furnishings, cosmetics, soaps, clothes, skin care products… the list goes on and on.
This is really the place to pick up a bargain buy. I am quite taken with the Art Deco Fork Bracelet, which, as the name suggests has been created from a refashioned fork from the 1930s.
If you can stand the thought of having an eating utensil wrapped around your wrist, it would make a unique statement piece for only US$15 (that’s around $20 locally).
One handy tip to save on shipping fees is to search for products posted by Australians only - many locals only charge a couple of dollars for delivery in Australia and you’ll get your purchase much quicker than buying from overseas. Shipping on the fork bracelet is only $5 as it’s coming from Byron Bay.
