BlueAnt has established quite a name for itself in the Bluetooth headset and speakerphone market, and the T1 is further proof of why.
The BlueAnt T1 offers significant improvements over its two predecessors, the V1 and the Q1. For starters, the T1 feels sturdier than the earlier models, without feeling overly bulky or clunky. To complement the rugged design, you also get two silicone covers in the box, which helps protect the unit from elemental and accidental damage.
Then there is the improved feature set. As well as the voice controls of the earlier BlueAnt headsets, there is also A2DP streaming and caller name announcing. BlueAnt has also improved the wind noise cancellation technology, which makes for much clearer calls.
The BlueAnt T1 is available now for $99.99.

If you’re looking for a top-of-the-range Bluetooth headset and you have the money to spend, the Plantronics Discovery 975 will appeal.
With a price tag pushing the $200 mark, you’d expect the Plantronics Discovery 975 to perform well and look great - and it doesn’t disappoint. The manufacturer has stepped away from the traditional “ear loop” design, instead offering a long, slender, clip-like device, finished in real black leather. The rest of the headset is made of a fairly lightweight plastic, which thankfully doesn’t look cheap, but makes the 975 comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time.
Of course, looks don’t count for much if a Bluetooth headset can’t provide you with decent audio quality. And once again, Plantronics perfoms solidly with the Discovery 975. Thanks to the 20-band equaliser and the proprietary digital signal processing feature, audio is clear and crisp, delivering very little static.
Also worth mentioning is the multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, meaning the headset can connect to two devices simultaneously; and the included charging case.
The Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth headset is available in Australia now with a recommended retail price of $179.95.

The new Motorola H790 is a basic Bluetooth headset for your mobile phone that offers exceptional audio performance at an affordable price point.
The feature set of the Motorola H790 won’t blow you away, especially when compared with some of the more expensive Bluetooth headsets on the market. Basically, it can be used to make and receive hands-free calls from your phone - and that’s it.
While there are no added extras such as voice control, what the H790 does, it does well. It features Motorola’s own Crystal Talk technology and this ensures the device offers absolutely exceptional audio performance. Many Bluetooth headsets on the market still fall short in this department, which is disappointing.
Another plus is the slim and light form factor, which allows it to sit comfortably on the ear for long periods of time. In fact, Motorola claims the H790 is its slimmest dual-microphone headset to date.
The Motorola H790 Bluetooth headset is available in Australia now with a recommended retail price of $99.95.

The new Nokia BH-905 is an exceptional stereo Bluetooth headset - and given the $400 price tag, it would want to be.
Not many of us are in the market for a stereo Bluetooth headset in this price range, but if you are, then the Nokia BH-905 should definitely be on your shortlist. Sound and call quality is much better than most of its Bluetooth brethren - in fact, it’s pretty much comparable to many wired headphones in this price bracket. This is thanks largely to the inclusion of multi-microphone active noise cancelling
The Nokia BH-905’s design also sets it apart from many other stereo Bluetooth headsets. It’s been graced with a comfortable fit, although the headset is on the heavy side, so isn’t really meant to be used for exercise. You should use it mostly at home (and at $399.95 you wouldn’t want to be taking it to the gym anyway).
The controls are placed handily on the right side of the headset, including the call button, play/pause, track controls, volume and more. If you want to use the BH-905 with a device that doesn’t have Bluetooth, you can, thanks to the inclusion of a 3.5mm jack and cable plus adaptors for several other connections.

The Motorola H780 is the latest addition to the manufacturer’s line of Bluetooth headsets and while it certainly presents as a beautiful headset on review, it is on the expensive side.
$109.95, in fact, is the price tag that the Motorola H780 has been slapped with, which seems somewhat exorbitant when you consider that this particular Bluetooth headset doesn’t necessarily come packed with many outstanding features.
Actually, when it comes down to it, the H780 doesn’t really offer any extras beyond transmitting audio from Bluetooth devices. Unless, of course, you count stylish looks as a feature. Because the Motorola H780 has style in spades, courtesy of the stainless steel exterior.
Compensating for the lack of features is the H780’s exceptional performance. Motorola has used its proprietary CrystalkTalk technology on this Bluetooth headset. This basically combines a noise-cancelling microphone with digital signal processing for crystal clear audio performance.
The Motorola H780 also offers multi-point connectivity so you can connect two devices to the headset at once.

The BlueAnt Z9 Bluetooth headset first arrived on the local market in 2007 amid much expectation.
It was well received at the time of launch and is still one of the better Bluetooth headsets available today, well over a year later. Given how quickly this sort of technology evolves, that’s no shabby claim to fame.
It boasts exceptional voice and sound quality, thanks to the inclusion of Voice Isolation Technology, which helps cancel environmental background noise in two modes - standard or max. Max is especially handy when you’re driving or walking through busy (and noisy) city streets.
The inclusion of dual microphones also boosts the BlueAnt Z9’s performance, so whoever you’re talking to will be able to hear your voice loud and clear.
The Z9’s design is another bonus. It’s a relatively small and compact device and looks stylish when sitting around your ear.
Last but not least, the BlueAnt Z9 is very easy to use, offering straight forward pairing (with up to three phones), voice dialling, call waiting and more.

The Motorola H500 is an affordable Bluetooth headset for your mobile phone that is easy to use and looks good.
It weighs in at under 20 grams and sits comfortably on your ear with the ear hook attached to the back.
Sound quality from this inexpensive unit is surprisingly good - especially when you are indoors, however you may have some issues when you are in the middle of heavy, noisy traffic.
The H500 operates using just three buttons - volume up and down as well as a call button, which lets you answer, reject, transfer and end phone calls. You can also use voice dialling, if your phone is set up for it.
The Motorola H500 users the Bluetooth 1.2 protocol and will pair with most mobile phones that are Bluetooth-compatible.

If you’re sick of getting tangled up in cords when you’re listening to your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth wireless headsets are the way to go.
They’re especially useful for when you’re exercising - you can clip your music player onto your belt or armband and the headset connects with the player via Bluetooth without the need for a cord.
The FreePulse is Logitech’s most affordable Bluetooth headphones to date and while they won’t win any awards for sound quality from serious audiophiles they provide an above average performance for the average consumer. And best of all, you can pick them up for just under the $100 mark.
In terms of design, the Logitech FreePulse also excels - comfort has obviously been a consideration (which surprisingly it often isn’t with some headsets. These headphones use adjustable silicon straps over your ears, which proves to be very comfortable, and the whole set it very lightweight - once again, ideal for exercising.

For many people today it’s a case of the fewer wires, the better.
Bluetooth headsets are becoming increasingly popular with anyone who wants to make and receive hands-free phone calls on their mobile phone without having an annoying headphone cord running from the headset to the phone.
The Motorola S9 Bluetooth headset can be paired with a Bluetooth mobile phone to make and receive mobile phones, however because it’s a stereo headset, it’s also designed to be used with music devices as well. The sound quality is better than what you’ll find on Bluetooth headsets that are intended for use with voice calls only.
Currently the S9s are being sold bundled with a Bluetooth iPod adaptor, which means you can also pair them with your iPod - great news for use at the gym or during any other physical activity.
