If you’re following the debate about phosphates in laundry detergents polluting our waterways, then grab some BioZet from BIG W!
You’re going to save yourself $10 on a 3.75Kg pack of Biozet Attack (front or top loader), plus you’ll help save our waterways. Why? Because the BioZet Attack detergent pack shows an NP symbol - which means this laundry detergent contains no added phosphorus, compliant with industry standards on phosphates. These are the chemicals that cause algal blooms currently choking some of our waterways. The phosphate which enters the waterways (also draining from farmlands, too) makes the algae grow, which takes oxygen out of the water and suffocates the aquatic life. So look out for NP on your laundry detergent pack.

Huawei - the Chinese company famous for producing the first under-$100 Ideos smartphone, is releasing the MediaPad. Will it do the same for the tablet market? Yes, is the answer….
The Huawei MediaPad has not followed the pack - it’s opted to lead the tablet market in a smaller 7″ screen size - plus it’s claiming another `first’ by running the new 3.2 Honeycomb version of Google’s Android OS. It’s this platform that allows for a range of screen display sizes - which means the smaller 7″ screen is now possible for tablets.
Sporting a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera that doubles as full HD 1080p video recorder and a HDMI port, Huawei are marketing their tablet as an`ultra-portable’ as well as a `high-performing’ package. When it launches in Australia soon, it will be sold through telco carriers, offering both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The 3.2 Honeycomb OS gives the tablet better hardware speed, and MediaPad comes with updates for the Movie Studio, Movies, and Music apps, along with enhancements to Android’s live widgets. The Huawei MediaPad has six hours of battery, front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls, 8GB of internal storage and comes with Facebook, Twitter, and Documents To Go apps in-built
Huawei also bundles MediaPad with its Hi-Space cloud solution, which it says is a cloud computing solution with its own apps store. The MediaPad RRP has not been released yet, but there’s no doubt that Huawei will maintain its market position for offering budget-priced, high-quality tech.

The ubiquitous Lady Gaga has cosied up to Polaroid to make a mobile printer!
Maybe there’s more money to be made by selling tech gadgets - rather than music? To deliver her wacky on-stage creations, Lady Gaga has gathered around her a troupe of designers/fashionistas/creatives she calls The Haus (wordplay on famous German Bauhaus school of design). They’ve made everything from Gaga’s Black Crystal catsuit to a light-up cane for her stage shows!
Now Gaga’s on a mission to deliver products that enable creativity for all, celebrate artistry and make sharing instantaneous across the physical and digital worlds. So The Haus of Gaga has teamed up with Polaroid to co-brand the Grey Label - and their first tech product is the excellent G10 mobile printer to create on-the-spot photos.
The G10 Instant Mobile Printer (RRP $199.95) is Zink-based, which means the real secret is the special polymer paper that reacts with heat to form pictures. Polaroid describes it as a “next gen” Zink printer, printing 4×3″ pics. A pack of 10 Zink sheets comes with the printer - a pack of 30 4×3″ Zink sheets costs $29.95, making each photo a dollar to print. So you may want to be considered about what digital prints you commit to paper!
Getting your prints to the GL10 is either a direct USB connection, with support for PCs, Macs and PictBridge devices, or via Bluetooth. Polaroid has a specific Android app`Polaroid Grey Label’, for printing to the GL10, as a free download. iPhone users aren’t currently directly supported for GL10 printing.
