Strap yourself in and get ready for the next ride into Wrongtown, because Vibram Five Fingers are here.
According to the Vibram Five Fingers website, these little miracle workers are the best things for your feet since sliced bread. Apparently they stimulate the muscles in your feet and lower legs to improve your balance and agility. I don’t care how comfortable they are, they’re still offensively fug and belong in the same pile as crocs and birkenstocks.
Unless you are some sort of elite athlete, I doubt this footwear is really necessary. And the site even recommends wearing them for “play and fun”. Somehow I don’t think you’d be getting asked out for much “play and fun” if you insist on turning up in your Aquaman footwear all the time.
The site also reckons that Vibram Five Fingers are the “alternative to going barefoot”. Hey, I have an even better alternative to going barefoot: they’re called shoes, and they’re available in most retail stores and charity clothing bins near you!

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is the long-awaited adaptation of the popular Ghostbusters movie franchise, which fans around the world have been eagerly awaiting for years.
The Ghostbusters video game was written by the same writers behind the 1984 movie - Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd, who also starred in the movie - so you know you’re not going to be let down. The actors from the movie (Akroyd and Ramis plus Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson) also provide the voice overs for the characters so the Ghostbusters game really retains an authentic look and feel.
The game is set seven years after the time of the Ghostbusters movie. You play as a rookie joining the team on ghostbusting missions around New York City. Some of the ghouls from the movie are back, including the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and of course the friendly ghost, Slimer. There is also a host of new ghosts developed especially for the Ghostbusters game.
You can zap the ghosts in four modes of firepower to weaken them, then attempt to trap them. This can be a tricky process and the more Ghostbusters you have helping you, the easier it gets.
The Ghostbusters game isn’t the hardest game in the world to conquer, and nor is it the fastest moving. However it does feature some nice gameplay and a good dose of humour, which will prove to be more than appealing to fans of the movie.

Nine West shoes is having a final sale on its winter stock, with all winter shoes reduced by 50% off the original retail price.
Those shoes I bought for $120 just three weeks ago are now marked down to $79.50, but I’ve learned to let that go. (Kind of.) In any case, Nine West has some other nice styles marked down, including the Ladron shoes pictured here, marked down to $74.50. I did try this style on in-store and they are quite lovely, but the pink shoes won out for me in the end.
My other picks in the Nine West sale are the Besana ankle boot, marked down to a very reasonable $89, and the Juliesa dark pink patent slingbacks (down to $69), which would be something different for work.

And the winners are:
J. McKeever, 3122; B. Christian, 5033; M. Crothers, 2449; K. Ross, 4012; M. Haines, 2488.
I thought I’d found my bargain of the year-to-date yesterday, but I stand corrected, in the form of this Leona Edmiston dress.
The Buffy Bell Sleeve Leona Edmiston dress is marked down by over 50% to $79 (originally $169), plus you can get an extra 10% discount until Sunday both in-store and online.
To claim your discount online you can use the code JQ5C7M24E, or if you received the offer in an email you can print the email out and take it into a Leona Edmiston store.
I just picked up the dress in red for $71 after the discount - bargain. I really wanted the navy version but it is sold out in my size and apparently going quickly in other sizes too. But red is nice too.
The discount code offer applies until Sunday on all Leona Edmiston sale stock so hurry to get an extra 10% off.

The Nokia E72 mobile phone - due to be released later this year - is the successor to the manufacturer’s perennial smartphone favourite, the Nokia E71.
The Nokia E72 isn’t vastly different to the E71 - instead, Nokia has chosen to build on the strength of the previous model with some minor tweaks and improvements.
The major changes are in terms of multimedia functionality, with the Nokia E72 featuring an improved 5-megapixel camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which was missing from the E71.
Nokia has equipped the E72 with an optical track-pad, which should make navigating the phone’s menus faster. Rounding out the package are Nokia Messaging and Maps.
The Nokia E72 has an Australian recommended retail price of $729.

Zodee is having an online lingerie sale and I think I just found my bargain of the year (or at least the year so far).
Yeah, I know I said I’m not spending money on non-essential items at the moment, blah blah blah whatever, but when you find a Pleasure State bra marked down to $15.95 from $79.95, it would be foolish NOT to buy it, right?
The Pleasure State White Label Tango push-up bra was so cheap because the very last one left happened to be in my size. Pleasure State bras and lingerie are not cheap to buy at full retail but they are gorgeous and well-made so this is even more of a bargain for me. After postage and handling it came in at $23, which is nothing in the scheme of things.
If you’re after a new bra, I recommend shopping by size to find the “last one left” bargains, but for cheap swimwear and items for men, women and kids, check out the links on the front page of the Zodee site.
