Canon Legria HFS10 review
The Canon Legria HFS10 camcorder is the manufacturer’s most recent addition to its HD camcorder range, and it deserves its position at the top of the range.
The Canon Legria HFS10 carries an RRP of $2499, which makes it the most costly of Canon’s camcorders for home use, but it incorporates a wealth of specifications and features that justify this price tag.
Most importantly, this high-definition (HD) flash memory-based digital camcorder features an 8.6-megapixel CMOS sensor, which is larger than others in the Canon camcorder range. While this makes the body somewhat bulkier than other models, it’s a fair trade off if you’re looking for a model with higher resolution.
Then there is the 10x optical zoom lens, which is much improved on previous Canon camcorders, and the generous 32GB of on-board flash memory.
The Canon Legria HFS10 also comes equipped with a Digic DV III processor, which allows a range of upgrades including better face detection, autoexposure and noise reduction.
One final quirky feature of note is something called Video Snapshots. This allows you to put together highlights montages of four-second video clips. You can also take photos while you are filming video.
