The madness continues

The madness continues

With all the controversy surrounding jeggings - leggings for women designed to look like jeans - several weeks ago, I thought I couldn’t be shocked by anything legging-related any more.

Well, I was wrong. Flipping through the Sunday paper yesterday, there was a small article on the “next big thing” in men’s fashion - meggings. Yes, leggings designed for men.

A quick Google search this morning and I found that this alarming trend does seem to be on the boil - at least according to some News.com.au sites. Honestly, I didn’t know whether to laugh, throw up or be angered that someone had stolen my idea to design leggings that look like business pants for men.

Leggings worn as pants on women is bad enough, but it’s ten times worse for men. I’m sorry, but I have no interest in seeing “everything” outlined and on full display. On anyone. No matter how hot they are.

If I see anyone wearing these on the streets of Sydney it is going to be a difficult task to restrain myself from hurling abuse at them.

Bad idea, boys. Bad idea.

  • I just wanted to say that as a male, it shouldnt matter what you wear if you wear it correctly.
  • I really find it odd that men would wear those things...

    HI,
I just wanted to say that as a male, it shouldnt matter what you wear if you wear it correctly. Also, if you have the body or legs to wear something slim and you wear it properly, who should care. I think it is ok as long as you have the body to wear something such as leggings. I wear them with shorts or by themselves depending on what i am doing.I own leggings and tights. In So Cal, it has been a trend for guys with slim jeans and other clothing.

ine a man i love wearing leggings i wear them aill the time

Leggings are way more practical to wear than pants for men. It's about time women have a better view and can figure out what exactly they want in a man in terms of the "full package". Ass isn't ass until you can actually tell if he is wearing an extra small, small, medium or large. Personally, an extra small fit on a toned body sums up the hottest shit there is!
  • Maybe to some, I guess.

I also like weraing leggings for a long time, and I am a man. Nobody cares. I think everybody sould wear what HE want and not the other. Leggings are great for sports and everyday life. I think most of the women are too fat, so they are envious of us mens who can wear leggings and look good.
  • Yes. I'm also jealous of Fatty Vautin because he looks better than me in a frock.

Aren't you being a bit hypocritical by wanting to "hurl abuse" at men for wearing what they want?

Women are allowed to wear what they want, including men's clothing, and no one says anything. A "fashion-forward" male tries to explore new territory and he's ridiculed.
  • Let it never be said that I am a hypocrite.

I ridicule women who wear leggings equally.

Whats wrong wih leggings? I wear leggings when I run and train. I have also worn the when going out and to the local shops. Nobody really cares. If worn right it can look good. Long t-shirts are good to avoid everything being displayed. So I dont reallt care what narrow minded people like you say. There are more serious issues in this world to worry about.

you all sound like ugly fat bitches who probably can't even fit into tent pants let alone leggings. jealousy is a funny thing my dears, a funny thing indeed.
  • Jasmin
It's not too late to return your meggings, Aj. Just explain it was a lapse of judgement.
  • It's true! :(
  • How is this any better than a middle-aged man in bike pants at the gym? It makes my eyes cry.
  • arvinarvin
    That's nasty.

    Australia says No!
  • Manda
Agreed! Skin tight pants are for Olympic speed skaters and heavy metal rockers from the 80's, no one else!
